Watch Dr. Barbara McCullough speak at “Healthy Communities” forum
On Wednesday, February 29th, Dr. McCullough participated in a forum entitled: Investing in Innovations for Thriving Communities and Healthy People, sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in partnership with the Health Wealth Connections Collaborative. The forum took place at the San Francisco Federal Reserve conference center.
The forum brought together professionals from academia, public health, financial institutions, philanthropy and community development to shed light on the social factors that determine health outcomes and explore community based strategies that are working to address both the social and physical conditions of at risk populations. Where people live, how much they earn and their education attainment all have a significant impact on health and life expectancy.
Dr. McCullough shared the work that Brighter Beginnings is doing to change the economic and social conditions of disadvantaged communities to improve health outcomes for families in the communities we serve. We were extremely excited to be invited to participate in this ground-breaking forum.
