Celebrating Dr. Seuss: Storytime & Clinic Open House

On the week of Dr. Seuss’ 112th birthday, Brighter Beginnings hosted a Story Time & Open House event at our Family Health Clinic in Antioch in partnership with Antioch Library. With a special guest appearance from Former Mayor of Antioch and current Brighter Beginnings Board Member Mary Rocha (who looked an awful like one of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters!), we read out loud together, sang together, and enjoyed lots of hands on activities led by Brighter Beginnings First 5 Staff. Antioch Library’s Geneva Moss & Amy Mockoski read Alyssa Satin Capucilli’s book, “Biscuit in the Garden” and generously provided copies to all children in attendance. We were also able to provide diapers, clothes, clinic tours, and free health screenings to attendees, and our Certified Enrollment Specialists completed healthcare coverage applications for eligible individuals.

to pick up a book and read to a child!” – Dr. Seuss
