Adopt-A-Family

What is Adopt-A-Family?  Eleven years ago, we realized that many of our client families were struggling during the holiday season.   To address this need, we launched Adopt-A-Family program, inviting community members and local companies to “adopt” one or more families and purchase “gifts from the heart”.

Through this ‘adoption’ process, low-income families are matched with a donor who either makes a cash donation on behalf of a family (or families) and/or the donor purchases seasonal gifts, wraps them and drops them off at one of our drop-off spots in Oakland, Richmond, or Antioch.

Last year, the Adopt-A-Family Program was our biggest ever.  Over 120 generous individuals and companies helped make holiday dreams come true for 853 children and family members in our community.  Yet in spite of our success last year, we knew we needed to help more families for 2007.  This year our goal is to serve 300 families.  We know it’s ambitious, but we know we can accomplish this with your help.

To participate is simple and rewarding. 

• Download the Donor Profile Form.
• Return the completed form by fax, email or mail as indicated on the form.
• When the form is received, we will send you the profile of the family or families you are adopting.

Drop-off times for Adopt-A-Family donations as follows:

Oakland Center - December 13 and 14 - 9 to 6 p.m.

Antioch Center - December 18 - 9 to 7 p.m.

Richmond Center - December 17 and 18 - 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
