Brighter Beginnings is a non-profit organization serving Alameda and Contra Costa Counties in Northern California. The agency provides programs and services for at-risk pregnant and parenting women, their children, and their family circle.

Classes of Employees/Benefits Eligibility
Full-time employees Regularly assigned to work forty (40) hours per work week, are eligible for benefits, which can include:
- Medical Insurance
- Dental Insurance
- Life Insurance
- Paid Holidays
- Vacation Pay
- Sick Time
- 401(k)
Part-time employees Regularly assigned to work twenty (20) hours or more, but less than 40 hours per work week. Part-time employees who work at least 20 hours per work week are eligible for partial health benefits. Only part-time employees who regularly work thirty (30) hours per work week earn vacation, sick time, paid holidays, or any other benefit provided by Brighter Beginnings. Employees who regularly work 30 or more hours but less than 40 hours per work week shall receive benefits proportionate to 40 hours. For example, an employee who regularly works 32 hours per work week shall receive benefits at 80 percent of the full-time benefit.
Temporary employees Those who work less than one thousand (1,000) hours per fiscal year (July 1-June 30). They are scheduled on an as-needed basis. Temporary employees are eligible for health plan benefits only after thirty (30) days of continuous employment when in temporary assignments of thirty (30) hours or more per week.
All applicants must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid California driver’s license, automobile insurance, and a clean driving record, as defined by our insurance carrier.
