Brighter Beginnings Privacy Statement

Information Collection and Use
Brighter Beginnings is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We maintain the privacy of our supporters through various technical means of protection. Brighter Beginnings does not share, exchange, rent, or sell our mailing lists.  Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with an appropriate law enforcement investigation, current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our web site.

Donations
In order to make a donation on this web site, a user must first complete a donation form, on which the user must provide contact information (name, billing address, phone and email), financial information (credit card number and expiration date), “in honor of” or “in memory of” information and donation amount. This information is used for billing purposes and to provide donations receipts. If we have trouble processing a donation, this contact information can be used to get in touch with the donor. This information will be used to send the donor an acknowledgment letter and a tax receipt.  Honoree or memorial gifts will also be acknowledged using this information.  Unless you indicate otherwise in the comment section of the donation form, you will be added to the Brighter Beginnings mailing list.

Mailing List
Users on the Brighter Beginnings mailing list will receive periodic mailings throughout the year.   Brighter Beginnings does not share, exchange, rent, or sell our mailing lists.

Security
This web site takes every precaution to protect our users' information. When you submit sensitive information via the web site, your information is protected both online and off-line.  When our donation form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card numbers), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry — SSL.  While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our supporters' information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted. Finally, the servers where personally identifiable information is stored are kept in a secure environment.
