Alameda Parenting Partnership - Child’s Play ProgramTeen parents learn and practice a range of effective parenting techniques focusing on the four constructs. They learn to adapt their parenting style to their child(ren)’s individual temperament. Benefits for Parents and Children Parents, including adult parents of very young teen parents, typically experience increased relaxation, self-confidence, and ability to manage stress, anger and other troublesome feelings. Children will experience healthier physical, intellectual, early language, and social-emotional development, and children of teen parents age 15 and younger will experience reduced confusion and stress. Community Collaboration Our Child’s Play program will operate in collaboration with Horizon High School’s Cal-SAFE program for school-aged parents, in Pleasanton, http://www.pleasanton.k12.ca.us/horizon/. We will also be developing groups at our Brighter Beginnings Family Support Center in Oakland. Program Funding Brighter Beginnings Child’s Play program is funded by Every Child Counts, First 5 Alameda County.
