Every Baby Matters
When we work with our client families, each pregnancy and every child is
of central importance. Our Family Service Plans have specific goals
and activities tied to outcomes for every parent and child. For children
to have happy, healthy futures, they need nurturing parents and safe homes.
Bright Futures Infant/Child Mental Health Program
Infant
and early childhood mental health reflects social and emotional capacities
and the primary relationships in children birth through age five. Because
young children's social experiences and opportunities to explore the world
depend on the love and care they receive, the child and the child's relationships
are central to “infant and early childhood mental health.” It
is essential to ensure that first relationships are trusting and
caring, as early relationships provide an important foundation for later
development.

Teen Family Support
Teen parents face problems that make it difficult for them to support
themselves and their children.Young parents are
very likely to drop out of school, and without an education or
work experience, it's hard for them to find jobs. They and their
children sometimes confront challenges ranging from poverty and
repeat pregnancy to substance abuse and child neglect.
At Brighter Beginnings, we provide programs to help pregnant
and parenting teens learn to care for themselves and their babies,
while also supporting the teen parents’ need to continue
their education, and planning for jobs and self-sufficiency.
