Brighter Beginnings has programs at each Center (Oakland, Antioch, Richmond) focused on providing parents with the child development skills to help their children develop and reach their full potential.

Brighter Beginnings Antioch First 5 Center
The Antioch First 5 Center offers fun, educational classes and activities for families with children ages 0-5.  Our Center provides age-appropriate programs that focus on children during their first five years and promote healthy family relationships, early learning opportunities, and parent education and support.

Oakland Brighter Beginnings Early Head Start

Parents learn and practice a range of effective parenting techniques while also learning to adapt their parenting style to their child(ren)’s individual temperament.  Brighter Beginnings Early Head Start program serves families with children prenatal to three.  Our focus is on advancing the development, education and health for the children and helping families connect with the resources that meet their basic needs.

Families must be residents of Oakland and have income below federal poverty guidelines.

Richmond Family Nurturing Program

The Richmond Family Nurturing Program is geared to teen parents and their children and pregnant and parenting African American moms.  We have bi-lingual staff, so Latina teens are welcome!  Our groups for African American pregnant moms offer childcare for siblings and even prenatal Yoga! We offer special parenting groups combining activities from the Nurturing Parenting Program with fun movement and play groups.
